Elf Planner

Affiliate & Advertising Disclosure

Plain-English: how Elf Planner makes money, what's an ad vs. an editorial recommendation, and what we do (and don't do) with paid relationships.

Amazon Associates

Elf Planner is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites.

In practice: when you click the cart icon next to a prop on an idea page, you're taken to an Amazon search for that prop. If you buy anything during that visit (the prop or anything else), Amazon gives us a small commission at no extra cost to you. Outbound product links elsewhere on the site (the shop page, idea props lists, callouts) work the same way.

Affiliate links throughout the site are marked with an affiliate tag or rendered as a shopping-cart icon next to a prop name.

Google AdSense

We display ads through Google AdSense. Ad slots on the page are clearly labeled "Advertisement." AdSense uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google's Ad Settings.

Ads do not influence our editorial picks. We never see which advertiser bid on which slot, and we have no relationship with the advertisers themselves.

Sponsored content

We currently do not run sponsored content. If we ever do, it will be:

  • Clearly labeled "Sponsored" at the top of the post and in the title.
  • Excluded from generator results and the main idea catalog.
  • Disclosed in this section with the brand and the date.

What paid relationships don't change

  • Idea selection. Which ideas appear in the catalog and how they're rated has nothing to do with whether the props link to Amazon. The 49+ ideas with prominent photos got that treatment because we found a great photo, not because someone paid for the slot.
  • Generator output. The generator's ranking is purely about your filters (age, room, pet safety, etc.) and overall difficulty/mess fit — never about commission rates.
  • Source attribution. Every idea credits the parenting blogger who originally shared it. Affiliate income does not redirect or replace those credits.
