Elf Stuck in Underwear on Washing Line
How it's done
Peg a pair of underwear on a clothesline and tuck the elf inside with his legs sticking out. Prop a second elf or toy trying to pull him free.
Should be fine around pets as long as you place it out of reach.
Why this works
Laundry room scenes play the comedy of chores. The elf caught 'folding' mismatched socks or 'ironing' chips is a scene kids associate with their own daily routine. This mid-difficulty scene trades a little more setup time for a bigger 'wow' moment when your kids walk in.
If it doesn't go to plan
If the elf ends up too well-hidden and the kids can't find it, nudge them with a vague hint ("Looks like our elf went somewhere cozy") — the discovery is the point.
